Here you will find the answers to the questions we are frequently asked.
What does "no drinking water" mean?
Outside the large cities, water is often obtained from private wells and treated using simple filter systems. The purified water is then stored in large tanks and does not reach the drinking water quality of the filter systems of large waterworks.
As a rule, the water can be boiled and drunk or used for cooking. There is also no danger when brushing your teeth or showering. Large canisters of drinking water are available in all supermarkets.
We have included this information because many guests do not realise that the water is not of drinking quality. If you have any questions about this, please contact your landlord, who will certainly be able to give you the necessary information about the water quality.
Do you also offer flights, ferry connections or a transfer service from the airport?
No, we work exclusively as a travel agent for holiday homes. A few landlords offer their own transfer service for a fee, but this is indicated in the description.
I found the house on another portal at a different price. How can that be?
Our prices are given to us by the landlords, and we clearly point out that our price should in no case be higher than the offer on other portals. It is therefore up to our landlords to ensure that this is adhered to. We cannot possibly compare the prices on all other portals with ours, especially as the houses are also offered under different names.
Many landlords speak neither English nor German, so even simple questions can be difficult. We thoroughly check the data entered for each holiday home to ensure that it is complete and correct, and take care of all communication with the landlord for you. So far, every one of our customers has found their holiday home, received the key and all questions and problems have been resolved. You will only find this service with a few other portals - it is of course your decision where you book.
Are there dogs in the neighbourhood?
Dog barking can be a problem, as we are well aware. In Sardinia there are some free-roaming dogs with and without owners, and most animals are kept in kennels outside the houses. Even if the neighbour doesn't have a dog, a loose dog next to your house can "talk" to a dog on the other side of the valley, which doesn't always sound nice. With a kennel, every passing car can be greeted with dog barking.
It is impossible for us to make a reliable statement as to whether there are dogs in the neighbourhood. After all, this can change at any time. If you feel disturbed, speak to the landlord. They also want you to have a relaxing holiday and, as a rule, all landlords know each other. In many cases, the problem has already been solved in this way.
Are there dangerous animals in Sardinia?
Sardinia has no special animals that are not found in other European regions. Roughly speaking, anything that bites or stings may sometimes look different, but is no more dangerous than what you know. Mosquitoes, horseflies, bees and ticks just like at home. There are sometimes larger snakes in lagoons and rivers, but even these are not dangerous and are more afraid of you than you need to be of them.
The only exception is the black widow - a small spider whose bite is actually dangerous. However, as long as you don't stick your fingers in a hole in the ground, no spider will bite you. Only if you are camping can it make sense to knock out your shoes in the morning.

What languages are spoken in Sardinia/by the landlord?
You won't have much success with English in Sardinia, most landlords, employees and salespeople only speak Italian and Sardinian. So it's certainly not a bad idea to learn at least a few words of Italian before your holiday, as this will make it much easier to make contact locally. Everyone there understands a friendly "Buon giorno" - and you will quickly get to know Sardinian hospitality.
In fact, with a bit of luck you may even meet a German-speaking Sardinian, as some have spent some time working in Germany.
Is there an early booking or last-minute discount?
Unfortunately not, because we work as a travel agent and have very little room for manoeuvre when it comes to prices. Only in special situations do landlords give a discount. This can be the case, for example, when renting over a long period of time or when renting several houses.
I have not been able to reach you by phone
We are a pure internet agency and answer all emails several times a day. Even if we listen to the telephone messages every day, we cannot always call back directly, unless it really is an urgent case. But when we do call back, we make time for every customer - so it should be worth the wait.
So if you want to reach us quickly, send us a booking enquiry or email - that's the quickest way.
Why is there no Internet / WiFi in the house?
Most of our houses are located in the countryside and are only used as holiday homes. A fixed internet connection is sometimes prohibitively expensive for landlords, and the mobile phone connection is often very poor, especially near the beach. This is why only a few providers outside the cities offer Internet for guests.
Almost all mobile phone providers also offer a data connection abroad, which can sometimes be booked as a daily package. This is often even cheaper than a local solution.
